SHOWERHEADS - replace your high flow showerhead with a low flow aerated showerhead and save up to £250 a year off the cost of combined water and energy bills.
TAPS - fitting a simple tap aerator on your bathroom or kitchen tap, could save you up to 10 litres of water a minute and save energy too as a result of using less water.
LIGHT BULBS - replacing existing light bulbs with energy saving ones could help you save 80% of your electricity – plus EACH light bulb can save you up to £25 a year.
THERMOSTAT - turning the temperature down by 1 degree could save you up to £60 a year.
TOILETS - if you are about to replace your toilet, fit a low flush or dual flush model. Alternatively, place a save-a-flush bag in your cistern and reduce the water used to flush the toilet.
RADIATORS - putting silver foil behind radiators fixed to external walls will reflect heat back into the room and save you £20 a year.
WINDOWS - by installing double glazing you could save up to £140 on your heating bills.
DRAUGHT PROOFING - fitting your windows and doors with a fix brush or PVC seal could save you up to £30 a year.
LOFT - good insulation could save you up to £250 a year.
CAVITY WALL INSULATION - combined with loft insulation could save you up to £365 a year.
HOT WATER SYSTEM - place a padded insulated cylinder jacket to fit around your hot water boiler and save up to £40 a year.
TUMBLE DRYER - stop using a tumble dryer in summer (hang clothes on a drying line instead) and you could save up to £20.
LIGHTSWITCHES - turn off all light switches and plugs including TV and you could save up to £30 a year.
DRIPPING TAPS - a dripping hot tap can cost you up to £30 a year if you are on a water meter and waste over 5,500 litres of water.
WHITE GOODS - if you are planning to replace white goods, look for A rated appliances that are more eco friendly and energy efficient.
KETTLE - don't fill the kettle when making one cup of tea - use only what you need with the ecokettle.
CENTRAL HEATING SYSTEM - preventing lime scale build up in hot water pipes and boiler heating element can increase the energy efficiency of your boiler by 10%.
DISHWASHER - wait until you have a full load before switching on your dishwasher or washing machine, two half loads use more hot water and energy than one full load.
