Water Efficiency Awards 2009
The deadlines have now closed for your business or organisation to enter the Water Efficiency Awards 2009. The awards are held bi-annually by Defra, OFWAT and the Food and Drink federation, they celebrate best practice for water efficiency, and are now in their 9th year.
The Awards are a great way to encourage businesses and industries to be more aware of the water they use. Few people know that the water bill of a manufacturing firm can represent up to 1% of business turnover, whilst businesses in the retail, hospitality and service sectors are often wasting up to half of all the water they use. The Environment agency has stated how vital it is “that organisations and individuals alike take responsibility to use water wisely to protect our valuable natural environment, now and for future generations”.
