The Results Are In!
Back in April we excitedly reported about the Water Efficiency Awards 2009, and urged your company or organisation to enter into the competition. And this July the results are in!
Ten judges, from reputable organisations such as the University of Exeter, Eurowise and the Environment agency have decided which companies gave clear evidence of changes in attitudes and behaviours with regards to water efficiency. They have been careful to ensure smaller companies can compete with huge firms, who are capable of larger water savings.
Nine awards have been given, with Gold, Silver and Bronze given over three categories: The Water Shout Award , The Water Save Award and The Water Solve Award. A tenth award for outstanding achievement will be given by the chief executive. This year's overall winner are Lafarge Cement UK , who have reduced their water usage by 95 per cent and are now saving £14,000 a year in associated electricity costs at one of their sites.
