Water and energy conservation are so intimately connected that they are practically synonymous. Any reduction in hot water usage will automatically result in a reduction in the energy used to heat it.
In 2007 the Ramada Encore Hotel in West London evaluated their water consumption before and after installing water saving aerated shower heads. The data collected from the meters showed a 20.8% saving in water usage, with an average 5% saving in energy used (source Pureworld Technologies Ltd). This was achieved by installing a combination of an aerated showerhead with a tap aerator.
